Safety Harbor Club is a community of 87 homeowners and the only planned unit development on North Captiva Island.

Our homes are nestled unobtrusively among the canopy of sea grapes, palm trees and other native vegetation that cover the island. We are centrally located on this Carribean-like island and the Club spans the waters of Pine Island Sound and the Gulf of Mexico, a distance of about one quarter mile. Most of our homes look to the waters of Pine Island Sound and glorious sunrises, the Gulf of Mexico and the tranquility of sunsets or around our freshwater lake teeming with interesting tropical bird life.

We enjoy a 4-mile stretch of white sand beach and some of the best shelling and fishing along the Gulf coast. Our owners also enjoy a heated swimming pool, tennis courts and activities held in the clubhouse all centrally located and overlooking the lake.

Our owners enjoy "Hemingway" days with no traffic and our high rises are the palm trees. We explore this beautiful island by golf cart, bicycle, or on foot. The white sandy trails lead to the beach, the state preserve, and to the island's interesting restaurants and boutiques. Since there is no one to impress, dressing up means putting on a pair of shorts and sandals.

When we feel the need to take a break from the peace and quiet, fishing, sunning by the pool or on the beach, shelling, playing tennis, or golf cart exploration, we can hop on a boat and head north, south, east or west. There are other barrier islands to visit for shopping and dining. Going to town usually means a day trip for essentials or to go to a movie or the theaters of Fort Myers or Naples . There are charter captains that provide either environmental or fishing excursions.
